Immediate Past President of the State Bar of Michigan, Reginald Turner, presents Justice Kelly with the Michael Franck Award for her work on the Open Justice Commission. She later received the President's Choice Award "with admiration and gratitude for her dedication, vision and contribution to equal justice for all."

The Open Justice Commission's mission included raising public and professional awareness of the impact of race, ethnic origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability on the fair delivery of justice in Michigan.
